JANICE PARK LEADS IN FUNDRAISING FOR MIDTOWN ASSEMBLY RACE

ANCHORAGE, AK – Today, Janice Park’s campaign for Anchorage Assembly District 4 announced a commanding start to the 2026 election cycle, reporting a total of $42,225.52 raised in its first financial disclosure. The campaign enters the next phase of the race with a strong cash advantage, maintaining $22,981.81 on hand as it prepares for the April 7th municipal election.

This fundraising total places Park at the head of the Midtown field. The campaign’s momentum is further underscored by a coalition of high-profile endorsements from current leaders who represent the district and the city. These include current Midtown Assembly Member Felix Rivera, along with Assembly Chair Christopher Constant, Assembly Vice Chair Anna Brawley, and Members Yarrow Silvers and Daniel Volland.

“The support we have seen across Midtown and throughout Anchorage is a clear signal that voters want leadership focused on keeping our city moving forward,” said Janice Park. “Our campaign is fueled by those who want to build on our progress and tackle our most pressing challenges—from ensuring safe streets and seeing our schools supported, to giving our neighbors a seat at the table to find common ground on how to best bolster affordable housing.”

While Park’s opponent extracts over $170,000 a year for his taxpayer-funded salary as one of Governor Dunleavy’s handpicked deputy commissioners, he has used his Anchorage School Board seat to wage a one-man war on public education. His dual role creates a clear conflict of interest, as his primary loyalty remains with the governor’s administration that consistently seeks to defund schools.

Furthermore, despite being a pension beneficiary himself, our opponent is happy to continue cashing his own pension checks while denying that same financial security to the police and firefighters who risk their lives keeping Anchorage safe.

“Midtown families deserve a representative who answers to them, not a career politician and political appointee whose loyalty is bought and paid for by the Dunleavy administration using taxpayer dollars. Our opponent has proven he cannot be trusted to put working families first when his voting record consistently prioritizes his employer’s austerity agenda over the students, teachers, and first responders of Midtown,” concluded Janice Park.
